In most countries such as China, India, Japan, Green tea is regarded helpful for prevention of illnesses, seemingly, rheumatoid arthritis. Many people in these countries have strong belief in that green tea is very useful to prevent the side effects of arthetits. Green tea has many benefit such as, green has antioxidants known as polyphenols, which may effectively reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthiritis. This was resulted by a study reported in national academy of sciences. The lead author of the green tea was Dr. Tariq, who along with his team researched used mice to study the effect of polyphones in rheumatoid arthritis, this is a disease which can cause pain or swelling or join displacement ore joint dysfunction. This study was conducted with the help of mice. Mice in the study were used with plain water or water which enriched inn green tea. The dosage was compared to dosage given for human consumption of four cups of green tea per day. All the mice were injected with collagen-induced arthritis is very similar to that which human rheumatoid arthritis. The study concluded that examination of joint tissue microscopically revealed marginal infiltration of joint cells in mice receiving that green tea in contrast with massive infiltration in the mice not fed green tea. The affect of the green tea hence appeared dramatic
